This presentation explores the 2021 Great Push Season using the lens of social metacognition in adult learning to interrogate rapid adoption of strategies used by teams during the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) open esport competition with over 2,100 teams globally. The presenters will provide an overview of social metacognition, the MDI framework, the metagame surrounding the events, and discuss the learning strategies and technology tools incorporated by teams in this virtual environment.
